A contest report on the 1979 IFBB Canada Cup. Chris Dickerson would win the title ahead of Mike Mentzer and Robby Robinson. After a 5 year hiatus this would be Dickerson’s first victory since he captured the 1974 NABBA Pro Universe. Dickerson weighed 187lbs and was 40 years old! The contest was also Casey Viator’s IFBB debut, Samir Bannout’s first professional show and the return of 60’s great Harold Poole!

I was at this contest. It was so fun. And I got to meet my hero, Ed Corney. 😊

What a thrill that would have been. An incredible event. Every contestant was a star in his own right! Feel free to share your whole experience of the event. I’m love to hear it.
